As someone who is typically not too savvy or creative with my hair, I am always down for those criminally effortless, yet polished looks. After taking a little inspo from my fellow blogger, Marianna Hewitt's, Instagram post, I put my own little spin on the minimal look... + Step 1: bring on the volume Whether your hair is freshly shampoo'd or not, apply a bit of dry shampoo at the roots and backcomb ever so slightly for some volume. I have quite a few formulas I love, but for this look, I used Batiste's Original Dry Shampoo for an instant refresh. + Step 2: give it some curl For oh-so-natural waves, take the bottom third of your hair and loosely curl small sections. For a look like this, I love to be super messy and unorganized, curling and twisting some pieces for a few seconds longer than others, wrapping only a bit of hair around the barrel once or twice, and moving in different directions and angles. Any curling iron works, though the thicker the barrel, the more natural it tends to look! + Step 3: all about that texture Now that your hair is full of bedhead waves, take a bit of texture or sea spray and spritz all over. I used a combo of Moroccoanoil's Dry Texture Spray and OUAI's Wave Spray (which I reviewed in my Fall Faves blog post). + Step 4: tie it up Now that your hair is full of effortless volume and texture, gather hair loosely at the base of your skull into a messy pony, leaving bits and pieces of hair undone to frame your face. I used a long piece of thin, black leather, but you can also use a velvet ribbon, or even your own hair with some bobby pins to keep it secure. I love how sweet, yet sexy this hair is... what looks will you be wearing this holiday season?
