#FENTYFAMILY #RiriForPresident

Happy September, beauty lovers!
As you may have (most definitely) heard by now, the queen herself Rihanna has just dropped her highly-anticipated beauty collection Fenty Beauty. Like the complete and utter badass she is, she released an extensive foundation range of 40 hues, from the fairest of fair to the richest of rich shades. Not only was I so excited to find my perfect match, but I'm happy to support an artist who not only appreciates the beauty in diversity, but tends to makeup lovers of every shade and ethnicity.

Although I was dying to play with her highlighters and universal lip gloss, I decided to contain my excitement and just pick up the foundation and foundation brush first.
Here are my thoughts on each...

+ Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longer Foundation in 160 (Warm Peach)
This. Foundation. Is. Everything.
Even with a little tan, I have always been the lightest shade in nearly every foundation I've ever tried. When swatching this product, my instincts took me to the first and second shades in the collection, and to my surprise, they were waaaay too light for me. I was shocked to realize that my true shade was actually 160 (Warm Peach), which is 7 shades deep in the collection - reflecting how truly diverse and inclusive this shade range is. While I have been able to mix and match my foundations in the past for the true shade, this is probably the first time in my life that I have found my perfect match that blends in seamlessly with my complexion and has my subtle peachy undertones. The first thing I noticed and loved about this formula was how light and airy it was. After shaking it well, it did pump out quite watery and runny, so I expected there to be light coverage - which there totally was at first. However, unlike so many other foundations I've tried, I layered this stuff about 3 times for full coverage and it never felt heavy, looked cakey, or applied streaky on my skin. It truly is buildable for those barely-there days, or when you want a full-on beat that looks as if you've airbrushed your skin. As if that wasn't enough to have me hooked, the finish of this product is absolutely to die for. As someone who typically leans towards a super dewey finish, I was again shocked that I fell in love with the mattifying qualities of this formula, and how it never ever clung to particularly dry patches on my skin. Although I do set my skin with Kat Von D Beauty's lightest shade from her Shade + Light Face Contor Palette, I never once have needed to retouch or blot my skin's natural oils, even after 10+ hours of wear. To top everything off, the packaging is perfectly minimal, fashion-forward, and sleek. I mean... I can't say enough good things about this stuff. You all just need to go into Sephora, get color-matched, and try it for yourself.

+ Full-Bodied Foundation Brush in 110
As someone who typically applies foundation with either my fingers or a brush, I knew I had to have this gorgeous Fenty Beauty brush to match my new foundation - and I honestly couldn't be happier with it's performance. This brush is not only stunning, but really buffs and blends the foundation beautifully into the skin. I adore how dense the bristles are, and how luxuriously soft if feels on my face. If you have a foundation brush you already know and love, I wouldn't say this is a total essential, though if you're on the market for a new one, I highly recommend giving this one a try. Especially when using this foundation (which has now moved onto my Holy Grail list), I will most definitely always be using this brush.
