prosperity stone | lifts negativity
As many of you readers may know, I am completely and utterly addicted to fragrance, with a collection that seemingly grows by the day. In general, I am attracted to warm scents that lean on the genderless side, with notes that are widely considered 'masculine.' Vanilla, musk, and jasmine are the three scents that are my weakness, and I can never pass up a gorgeous bottle (even if the scent isn't exactly my fave). When Kim KW teased her fragrance collection, I was immediately intrigued, taken in by her minimalistic branding via her Instagram. As I couldn't smell the three signature scents before purchasing them, I decided to give Crystal Gardenia Oud a try, as it seemed very different from the scents I already had, though still in-line with the fragrances that always seem to work well with my skin. Here are the thoughts on my KKW Fragrance experience...
+ Can I just say... this packaging one of the most luxuriously stunning boxes I have ever seen, with minimal lines and a subtle cream box. I love how this scent comes equipped with citrine crystals and a little note describing the positive effects of the crystals (which I wrote above!). As someone who collects crystals, I think I've found a new and improved place to store my little treasures...
+ I can confidently say that this bottle is truly one-of-a-kind and very much worth the price. The 75ml bottle is quite large, and will likely last quite a long time. It feels luxurious in my hand, and is pretty heavy and substantial. Love.
+ And now for the scent... Crystal Gardenia Oud by KKW Fragrance is sensual, warm, richly complex, subtly feminine, and unfolds beautifully over time. The bouquet of florals (jasmine, lavender, iris, geranium, rose) create a complimentary, full-bodied, and ever-so-slight powdery aroma, with not one single flower that takes centerstage. Amber and musk add such a sexy warmth that is truly addicting, while a subtle citrusy bergamot adds an uplifting vibe, most present at first spritz.
+ Kim has noted that this fragrance is inspired by the Middle East, and in many ways, I can understand this sentiment. The scent feels somewhat foreign and very much complex - I adore that this is one of those scents that you can't quite place, with individual notes blending for a unique aroma.
+ What I love most about this scent is that it feels a lot like aromatherapy when I breathe it in. It is both parts uplifting and calming, overall making me feel sensually empowered. It is gorgeous by day, perfect for layering or as a standalone by night. Mysteriously complex, femininely sexy. It truly has that je ne sais quoi.
Which of the three signature scents will you try? I think I'll try Crystal Gardenia next...
