As a true lover of fragrance, I refuse to be bound by the limiting labels of what's meant for men and what's meant for women. While I seldom wear this Chanel scent myself, I can't help but close my eyes and breathe in a bit deeper whenever my roomie (who happens to be my older brother) spritzes this eau de toilette I gifted him this past Christmas. + As I explained in my Chanel L'Eau review, expect nothing but the best with this brand. The packaging, the bottle, the luxurious simplicity... and in the case of this fragrance, the convenient magnetic cap that has the most satisfying click when you pop it on. + What I am most impressed by with this particular fragrance is just how long-lasting it is (even moreso than my coveted L'Eau) - especially considering eau de toilettes are meant to be a bit less bold and are traditionally for daytime wear. Long after this fragrance is sprayed, the intoxicating aroma still fills up the room and leaves its mark, often lingering even until the next morning. While that might sound a bit off-putting to some, the scent never gets old and has yet to to bother me or give me a fragrance-induced headache. + Now, let's get to the notes of this rich, yet clean scent... Chanel never fails to create complexly decadent fragrances, often balancing a tension between bright and warm aromas, or up-lifting and sensual scents. At the very top of this cologne lies a sweetly refreshing grapefruit, which is cradled by a sensually clean sandalwood, and a richer, earthier dry cedar at its base. The combination of these aromas leaves its wearer with an aura of mystery and fresh sophistication that is unmistakably Chanel. No matter with which gender you identify, Bleu de Chanel is the perfect addition to any fragrance lover's collection. It truly is irresistible. Which scent has you swooning these days?
